Residents of Bengaluru woke up to a sharp winter chill this week, triggering a wave of memes, jokes, and relatable posts across social media. As temperatures dipped noticeably, many compared the city’s weather to North India’s peak winter months.

Comedian and entrepreneur Tanmay Bhat joined the conversation, writing on X, “Also brrrr Bangalore is freezing.”

Another user joked, “Bhai, if Bangalore is freezing, Kasol is absolute zero,” while several others shared that the city is “giving full North Indian winter vibes.”

Fog Disrupts Flights at Bengaluru Airport

The sudden cold spell also brought dense fog in the early hours of November 27, leading to major flight delays at Kempegowda International Airport.
According to ANI, 41 flights were delayed since 5:30 am due to poor visibility.

Rain & Cloudy Weather in Parts of the City

Some areas in Bengaluru experienced light rainfall on Thursday morning.
However, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) confirmed that no severe weather alerts have been issued.

The Met Centre forecast for November 28 predicted:

  • “Generally cloudy sky. Possibility of early morning clouds in some areas.”

IMD also expects the week to feature partly cloudy skies with slight chances of rain.

  • Maximum temperature: ~29°C
  • Minimum temperature: ~19°C

Bengaluru’s Air Quality Declines

According to the CPCB’s Sameer app, Bengaluru’s Air Quality Index (AQI) today stands at 115, falling under the moderate category.
The trend over recent days:

  • Nov 25: 87
  • Nov 26: 96
  • Nov 27: 103
  • Today: 115

This level of air quality can cause “breathing discomfort to people with lung disorders, asthma, or heart ailments.”

Despite the chill, the city continues to react with humour—turning Bengaluru’s winter into a trending topic online.
