Malaysia Bars Political Messaging at Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Audio Launch, Security Tightened Ahead of Massive Crowd

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian authorities have imposed strict restrictions on political content at the audio launch of Jana Nayagan, the upcoming film starring Tamil actor Vijay, which is scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur on December 27.

According to Malaysian media reports, the Royal Malaysia Police (Polis Diraja Malaysia – PDRM) has clarified that permission for the event was granted strictly as an entertainment programme and not for political activity. Any form of political speeches, slogans, banners, symbols, movements, or live broadcasting of political messages has been explicitly prohibited within the venue and surrounding areas.

Cheras District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan stated that strict action will be taken against anyone violating these conditions. The move comes amid heightened attention as Vijay is widely expected to enter active politics in Tamil Nadu ahead of the next Assembly elections through his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

The event organiser and distributor, Malik Streams Corporation CEO Datuk Abdul Malik Dashtigeer, confirmed that the Thalapathy Thiruvizha concert and Jana Nayagan audio launch will fully comply with police directives and remain purely entertainment-focused.

Security arrangements have been significantly strengthened, as authorities expect nearly 90,000 fans to attend the event at Stadium Bukit Jalil, one of Southeast Asia’s largest stadiums.

Ticket sales for the event have witnessed overwhelming demand. As per Ticket2U, most seating categories have already sold out across all three pricing tiers, reflecting Vijay’s massive overseas fan following.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is slated for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with Pongal. The film is being positioned as Vijay’s final cinematic outing before his full-fledged political entry and also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju.
