Actress Trisha Krishnan turned heads with her graceful traditional appearance at the swearing-in ceremony of Joseph Vijay, who officially took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday.

The grand ceremony took place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and marked a historic political moment, as Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) formed the state’s first non-DMK and non-AIADMK government in nearly six decades.

Trisha’s Traditional Style Statement

Trisha attended the event wearing a timeless powder-blue Kanjeevaram saree featuring delicate floral motifs and subtle gold detailing. The silk saree was paired with an embroidered ivory blouse highlighted with gold threadwork, creating a refined and understated ceremonial look.

Keeping her styling minimal yet elegant, the actress accessorised with a ruby-and-diamond choker, matching earrings and fresh mogra flowers wrapped around a neatly styled bun. Her soft makeup, highlighted by kohl-lined eyes and blush-toned lips, complemented the classic South Indian ensemble.

Public Attention Around Vijay and Trisha

Trisha’s appearance at the oath-taking ceremony attracted significant public and social media attention due to her long-standing professional association with Vijay and ongoing speculation surrounding their close friendship.

Earlier in the day, the actress was photographed leaving her residence for the event. Following Vijay’s electoral victory, her public reaction remained brief, with the actress simply stating, “Thank you, looking forward.”

Long-Standing On-Screen Pairing

Vijay and Trisha remain one of Tamil cinema’s most celebrated on-screen pairs, having appeared together in blockbuster films including Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aathi, Kuruvi and Leo.

The actress had also shared updates during the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and reportedly visited the Tirupati Temple around the time election results were announced.

Historic Political Shift in Tamil Nadu

Vijay’s oath ceremony followed TVK’s landmark performance in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where the party emerged victorious in its debut electoral contest and ended decades of political dominance by the state’s major Dravidian parties.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of political leaders, film personalities, party supporters and members of Vijay’s family.
