Mumbai: Actor Vikrant Massey marked the second anniversary of his critically acclaimed film “12th Fail” on Monday, expressing deep gratitude for the recognition it brought him, including a National Award that he describes as the “proudest moment” of his life.

Reflecting on his journey, Vikrant shared,

“Winning the National Award is the proudest moment of my life. It’s a dream that a 20-year-old boy once envisioned, and to see it come true feels nothing short of surreal.”

He added that the award symbolizes his commitment to storytelling and his audience:

“If this recognition serves as a testament to my dedication to the craft, I hope to continue being worthy of people’s time and trust — to better myself with each step, and to entertain as well as inform through the privileged platform of cinema and media that I am fortunate to be a part of.”


🎬 About ‘12th Fail’

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 12th Fail is based on Anurag Pathak’s 2019 non-fiction book, chronicling the inspiring true story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who rose from poverty to become an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, and his wife Shraddha Joshi Sharma, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer.

The film stars Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankr in lead roles, alongside Anant Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee. It follows Sharma’s journey of perseverance, courage, and self-belief as he restarts his academic life to conquer one of the world’s toughest exams — the UPSC.

Starting his career on television with shows like Dhoom Machaao Dhoom, Dharam Veer, Balika Vadhu, and Qubool Hai, Vikrant transitioned to films with supporting roles in Lootera, Dil Dhadakne Do, and Half Girlfriend.

His breakout performance came with A Death in the Gunj, followed by acclaimed roles in Chhapaak, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, Haseen Dillruba, Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi, and Love Hostel.

Vikrant has also earned praise for his work in OTT series like Mirzapur, Broken But Beautiful, and Criminal Justice.
