Dhanush’s return to Hindi cinema has given Bollywood a fresh boost as Tere Ishk Mein registered a solid opening at the box office. Directed by Aanand L Rai and co-starring Kriti Sanon, the romantic drama collected ₹16.5 crore on Day 1, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk.

This marks a promising start for the film, positioning it for a potentially strong opening weekend across India.

⭐ A Strong Comeback for Both Leads

For Kriti Sanon, this is her best opening in recent months. Her previous release, Crew, featuring Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan, opened at ₹9 crore and eventually closed at ₹81 crore domestically.

For Dhanush, whose last release was the Tamil film Idly Kadai (₹11 crore opening), Tere Ishk Mein marks a successful return to the Hindi market after 2021’s Atrangi Re.

📊 Comparison With Recent Releases

While Tere Ishk Mein has begun well, it still trails behind Mohit Suri’s surprise blockbuster Saiyaara, which delivered a massive ₹21 crore Day 1 opening and collected ₹329 crore in its lifetime run.

However, the film has convincingly beaten the opening of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat (₹9 crore Day 1), which went on to earn ₹78 crore despite facing competition.
