Srinagar: Security agencies in Jammu & Kashmir have arrested a 26-year-old man from Kulgam for allegedly providing logistical support to the Pakistan-backed The Resistance Front (TRF) militants involved in the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 25 lives, mostly tourists, in April this year.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Yousuf Kataria, was apprehended on Wednesday following a detailed investigation and analysis of weapons recovered during Operation Mahadev, sources said.

Role in Aiding Terrorists

Investigators revealed that Kataria, who was working a contractual job and also taught local children, came in contact with TRF operatives a few months before the attack. He reportedly helped militants by guiding them through forest areas in Kulgam, facilitating their movement and shelter.

Pahalgam Attack Recap

On April 22, heavily armed terrorists ambushed tourists in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, killing 26 people, including 25 tourists, in one of the deadliest attacks in recent years in Jammu & Kashmir.

The probe indicated that Kataria played a crucial role in assisting the Lashkar-linked group that executed the assault. His arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the continuing counter-terror operations in the Valley.
