The 78th Cannes Film Festival unfolded as a visual masterpiece, once again blending glamour with cultural pride. Over the years, India’s growing presence at this prestigious event has become a powerful platform to showcase indigenous handloom, handicrafts, and traditional artistry to the world.

This year, Indian celebrities made strong fashion statements in ensembles crafted by some of the country’s finest designers—each piece narrating a unique story of heritage, elegance, and innovation.

Janhvi turned heads in a mint green backless gown featuring a dramatic train and adorned with layered traditional jade and jadau jewellery from Golecha’s Jewels. Her look was a fusion of vintage charm and contemporary finesse.

Masoom drew inspiration from 20th-century French fashion in an elegant hand-beaded gown. Created with micro pearls, enamel roses, and shells, the ensemble took over 600 hours to complete. Her look, styled by Ami Patel, was elevated with jewellery from Tanishq Middle East.

✨ Karan Johar

Karan Johar paid tribute to late designer Rohit Bal, wearing a regal silk velvet jacket adorned with bold rose motifs from Bal’s final collection, Kaaynaat. The ensemble was a graceful blend of nostalgia and luxury.

✨ Amruta Fadnavis

Amruta Fadnavis opted for a sharp silk pantsuit laced with traditional Indian motifs, perfectly combining power dressing with cultural roots.

As Indian designers and celebrities continue to leave an imprint on global red carpets, Cannes 2025 served as yet another reminder: India is not just participating—it’s defining the new era of international fashion.
