Amid growing speculation over a leadership reshuffle within the Karnataka Congress, Dr. Ranganath, a close aide of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, said the internal issues in the party will be resolved soon. Speaking to CNN-News18, the MLA hinted at positive developments on the horizon.

“I’m not allowed to speak much on the issue, but whatever confusion or minor issues are there will be solved in a week. Good news will come soon,” he said, indicating that discussions within the party are nearing a conclusion.

Community Angle Clarified

Responding to questions over whether the ongoing political conversations were influenced by caste or community dynamics, Dr. Ranganath dismissed such speculation.

“It’s not a caste issue, let’s not make it one. The Vokkaliga community is also OBC. We fall under the Ahinda umbrella too,” he clarified. He also noted that Shivakumar commands strong spiritual support: “Our leader has religious thinking and many seers come to bless him.”

Shivakumar Strengthening His Support Base

The remarks follow strong buzz around DK Shivakumar’s efforts to consolidate support within the party. According to sources, the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister has been reaching out to senior Congress leaders in Maharashtra as part of a broader political strategy.

Shivakumar’s Mumbai visit on Thursday was viewed as a significant move. He reportedly spoke with top leaders from the party’s Maharashtra unit, seeking their backing ahead of ongoing leadership discussions in Karnataka.

Key Conversations With Senior Maharashtra Congress Leaders

Sources confirmed that Shivakumar held a telephonic conversation with Balasaheb Thorat, a senior Congress leader and Gandhi family loyalist. The two leaders, described as old friends, reportedly discussed the Karnataka Chief Minister position.

Shivakumar also reached out to Gadchiroli MLA Vijay Waddetiwar as part of his outreach efforts.

Political observers believe these conversations form part of a calculated push by Shivakumar to strengthen his claim within the party’s internal power equation.

With mounting speculation and behind-the-scenes manoeuvring, all eyes are now on the Congress high command as the Karnataka leadership narrative develops.
