New Delhi: The national capital was placed on high alert on Tuesday after a series of bomb threats were emailed to two CRPF schools and multiple district courts, prompting immediate evacuations and heightened security deployments. The incidents come just days after the deadly Red Fort blast, intensifying concerns across the city.
Threats Sent to CRPF Schools and Delhi Courts
Authorities confirmed that emails warning of explosives were received by:
- CRPF School, Dwarka
- CRPF School, Prashant Vihar
- Saket District Court
- Rohini District Court
Police teams conducted thorough searches at both schools but found nothing suspicious, allowing them to resume normal operations.
Evacuations at Delhi Courts
The situation was more tense at the Saket and Rohini courts, where the email referenced the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror group. As a precaution:
- Court proceedings were halted
- Premises were evacuated
- Bomb squads and security teams were deployed
Journalist Shreya reported that early indications suggest it could be “another hoax threat,” similar to previous incidents in Delhi. However, given the November 10 blast, agencies are treating every threat as credible until proven otherwise.
Context: String of Hoax Threats
Delhi has been receiving multiple hoax emails in recent months, many invoking terror outfits to trigger panic. While most have turned out to be false alarms, the recent Red Fort explosion — which killed 15 — has led security agencies to tighten protocols significantly.
Investigation Underway
Cyber teams are tracing the source of the emails, while the Delhi Police and central agencies are coordinating to ensure there are no gaps in security.
Officials said that until the investigation is complete, no possibility is being ruled out.
