Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday energized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) booth-level workers in poll-bound Bihar, urging them to strengthen every booth to ensure a decisive NDA victory in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Speaking virtually through the NaMo app, PM Modi launched the campaign slogan —
“Ekjut NDA, Ekjut Bihar – Isse banegi sushashan ki sarkar” (United NDA, United Bihar – Together We’ll Build a Government of Good Governance).
He called on party workers to reach every household and raise awareness about welfare schemes implemented by both the Centre and the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government.
“It was the people’s vote that saved Bihar from the evil eyes of the RJD and Congress in the last polls. That victory will happen again,” the Prime Minister said, expressing confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s performance.
Modi’s Message: Empower Booth Workers and Women Voters
PM Modi highlighted the role of booth-level strength as the foundation of electoral success, stating,
“The party wins when every booth is strong. Every booth worker is Modi in their area.”
He asked workers to act as his direct representatives by guaranteeing voters that the government’s schemes are reaching them effectively.
During the interaction, a moment that drew attention online was when PM Modi corrected a woman booth worker who addressed him as sir.
“Don’t call me sir, I am your bhaiya (brother). Women power is my biggest strength, shield, and inspiration,” he said, encouraging women to vote in groups and celebrate the “festival of democracy.”
NDA’s Election Strategy and Candidate Announcements
The Prime Minister’s address came just hours after the BJP released its second list of 12 candidates for the upcoming elections, signaling the party’s accelerated campaign momentum.
The NDA, comprising the BJP, Janata Dal (United), and other allies, had earlier finalized its seat-sharing arrangement, but internal tensions surfaced soon after.
JD(U) MP Ajay Kumar Mandal reportedly offered to resign, alleging limited access to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, revealing cracks within the alliance.
Meanwhile, the Opposition Mahagatbandhan, including RJD, Congress, and Left parties, has yet to finalize its seat-sharing formula even as the deadline for filing nominations for the first phase looms.
A Festival of Democracy
PM Modi drew parallels between Diwali and the upcoming election results, saying that Bihar will celebrate “two Diwalis” this year — one for the festival, and one for the NDA’s victory on November 14.
The Prime Minister’s message combined his hallmark themes of development, women empowerment, and organizational unity, setting the tone for the NDA’s high-voltage campaign in the days leading up to polling.
