NASA+ is now live, streaming the departure of Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4), the fourth private astronaut mission to the International Space Station, as the crew prepares for undocking and return to Earth.
NASA’s coverage includes the critical moments of hatch closure and spacecraft separation, which will conclude roughly 30 minutes after undocking—marking the end of joint operations between NASA, Axiom Space, and SpaceX. Re-entry and splashdown coverage will continue via Axiom Space’s official website.
At 5:07 a.m. EDT, the hatch was sealed between the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft and the ISS. The four private astronauts onboard—Peggy Whitson, Shubhanshu Shukla, Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, and Tibor Kapu—are now readying for their journey back to Earth.
The undocking is scheduled for 7:05 a.m., with the spacecraft targeting a splashdown off the coast of California on Tuesday, July 15.
This mission highlights NASA’s growing collaboration with private spaceflight companies and the evolution of NASA+, which now offers seamless access to real-time space coverage across web and social platforms.
