Tirupati/Thrissur: Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani paid visits to two of India’s most revered temples on Sunday — Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala and Sri Krishna Temple in Guruvayur, Kerala — combining spiritual devotion with large-scale philanthropy.
At Tirumala, Ambani was welcomed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials before proceeding for darshan. Following his visit, Ambani announced the construction of a state-of-the-art kitchen at Tirumala that will be dedicated to the Sri Venkateswara Anna Prasadam Trust, a key initiative that provides free meals to lakhs of devotees daily.
The upcoming kitchen, being developed in partnership with TTD and supported by the Andhra Pradesh government, will feature advanced automation and large-scale cooking infrastructure. Once operational, it will have the capacity to prepare and serve more than 2,00,000 sanctified meals per day, ensuring each devotee receives nutritious and hygienic anna prasadam.
“This project is our humble effort to serve Lord Venkateswara and contribute to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of expanding the anna seva tradition to all TTD temples,” said an official statement from Reliance Industries. “We are grateful to TTD and the Government of Andhra Pradesh for their guidance and collaboration. It is our privilege to be a part of Tirumala’s divine mission — that no devotee ever goes hungry.”
Earlier in the day, Ambani visited the Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple in Kerala’s Thrissur district, where he donated ₹5 crore as part of his ongoing temple initiatives.
Both visits highlight Ambani’s continued engagement in charitable and cultural causes, reflecting Reliance’s long-standing commitment to community welfare, tradition, and social upliftment across India.
