Mahindra’s latest electric SUV, the XEV 9e, is fast becoming a favorite among Indian consumers and high-profile personalities. Unlike other popular EVs from Tata Motors or Maruti Suzuki, this model stands out as a proud offering from Mahindra, known for its cutting-edge technology and sleek design.

One of the notable names to recently acquire the XEV 9e is Vinod Sahay, Chairman of the Mahindra Group Executive Board and the Confederation of Indian Industry for Defence and Internal Security. Taking delivery of the SUV alongside his wife, Sahay expressed pride in owning his first electric vehicle—especially one developed in collaboration with his sourcing team. He praised the SUV for its top-tier engineering and futuristic features.

Mahindra’s rising popularity in the EV space is further solidified by the simultaneous launch of another model, the BE 6. Slightly more compact than the XEV 9e, the BE 6 shares a number of features with its sibling. Both SUVs offer battery options of 59 kWh and 79 kWh, providing impressive ranges of 542 km and 656 km, respectively, on a full charge. While both models currently come with rear-wheel drive, Mahindra has plans to introduce all-wheel drive variants in the near future.

The XEV 9e and BE 6 reflect Mahindra’s commitment to international standards and innovation in electric mobility. As more Indian consumers and celebrities show interest, these vehicles are expected to lead the next wave of EV adoption in the country.

Vinod Sahay’s endorsement is a strong signal of growing confidence in Indian-made electric vehicles, with Mahindra positioning itself as a major player in the sustainable transport revolution.
