Czechia has witnessed a significant rise in Indian visitors in 2025, with official hotel data showing a 12.38% increase in arrivals compared to 2024. The figures underline India’s growing importance as a source market for the Central European nation.
While Prague continues to attract first-time travellers, a noticeable shift is underway. Indian tourists are increasingly expanding their itineraries to explore destinations beyond the capital, contributing to a broader distribution of visitor traffic across the country.
One region gaining particular momentum is South Moravia, known for its vineyards, heritage towns and cultural routes. Its proximity to Prague makes it an ideal option for short extensions of one to two days, especially among repeat travellers and small groups looking for experience-driven holidays.
CzechTourism has indicated that Indian travellers today are more research-oriented and inclined towards immersive experiences rather than conventional sightseeing. In response, the tourism authority plans to strengthen curated regional offerings, including wine and gastronomy trails, heritage circuits and multi-destination travel routes.
To better understand travel patterns, CzechTourism will also incorporate data from digital platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com into its monitoring systems, allowing for a more comprehensive analysis of Indian arrivals.
Additionally, the reopening of the Czech Consulate in Mumbai is expected to simplify travel procedures and further boost demand from India.
With outbound travel from India growing steadily across seasons, Czechia is positioning itself as a destination that encourages extended, multi-region exploration rather than a brief, single-city visit.
