The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), operating under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, will host a prestigious international event titled ‘Yoga Bandhan’ on June 17, as part of the lead-up to International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025. Recognized as one of the 10 Signature Events of IDY-2025, this initiative emphasizes India’s growing commitment to advancing global collaboration through yoga-based institution-to-institution partnerships.

The event will welcome a diverse lineup of distinguished yoga leaders, researchers, and practitioners from countries including Australia, Austria, Brazil, China, Denmark, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, and Argentina. Among the prominent names are Josh Pryor (Yoga Australia), Gregor Kos (Austria), Yin Yan (China), Jose Maria Marquez Jurado – Gopala (Spain), and Vimukthi Jayasundara (Sri Lanka).

The event will begin with an inaugural session featuring speeches from key dignitaries such as Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of Ayush; Monalisa Dash, Joint Secretary, Ayush; K. Nandini Singla, DG, ICCR; and Dr. Kashinath Samagandi, Director of MDNIY.

‘Yoga Bandhan’ will serve as a platform for meaningful people-to-people exchanges and dialogue on integrative wellness. Activities during the event will include cultural visits, interactive sessions, yoga demonstrations, and collaborative talks between global and Indian institutions.

The initiative will culminate in the grand celebration of the International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2025, where these global voices will come together once again in a display of harmony, health, and shared human values through yoga.
